Microduction® is a proprietary system developed by the east coast processing company Onset Worldwide. With increased demand from both consumers and manufacturers for pathogen reduction, our team knew the food industry needed a scalable treatment to organically sanitize food ingredients. We found the current commercially available solutions lacked a proper validation, changed the functionality/sensory characteristics of the product, or simply could not handle the volume our customers required.
We set out to develop a method of treating ingredients organically without the use of heat or liquids in the process.
After three years of research and development, our team reached a 5-log reduction in exogenous Escherichia coli. and Salmonella.
The Microduction® system has served our toll processing customers since January 2018, and we launched our leasing program in June of 2020. We have achieved a validated, 5-log reduction on over 20 products through Microduction®, with plans to add more in the coming months.
Repeat tests were completed, validated by a third party laboratory.
